Hello, sunshine! I'm Jillian, your local regenerative agriculture scientist/ dirt lover/ accidental entrepreneur. My story is a little messy, a little wild, and definitely not what I had in mind, but the best things never are, amirite?

From City Girl to Soil Girl

Five years ago I was just a girl with a dream, and a serious onset addiction to plants. I did not know anything about farming at all, but I did have some inkling our food system was monstrous. So, I did what any local crazy lady would do: I quit my corporate comfy job, maxed out my credit cards, and purchased a piece of land that looked like it survived a zombie attack. (It sort of did.) During the first few months there was chaos. I probably killed more plants than saved, I cried over compost (a few times), and I may have set a small fire while trying to innovate with solar panels. But each failure taught me something. Each spectacular blunder was a step closer to figuring out how to work the land.

Then It Happened...

And then I had the real test: A drought. A drought that left my field cracked and my soul just as cracked. I remember being and literally sitting in the dirt going 'this is really it, I'm done.' And then.... I looked around. The tiny spot I had planted in the regenerative way, was thriving. It was green in a land of brown! This was the future. Not just my future, but our future.

Fast forward to today: my little experiment oops-I-became-a-farmer has become a movement. I've taught thousands of people to heal the
earth, regenerative plot by regenerative plot. And yes! I still make mistakes. (Last week I may have mistaken a field weed for a
rare herbal plant. Oops.). But that is the beauty here - growth is not a perfect system. Growth is messy, imperfect, and so worth it.

Because What I Do Is Not Just About Farming

It is a rebellion. It is literally getting your hands messy - and absolutely refusing to accept the status quo. It is being an example that the 'girl next door' can change the damn world.
