My name is WhitneyG and this is the story of how I went from a broke college dropout sleeping on friends couches, to a Quantum Cryptography Specialist that is now safeguarding the future of the internet, one entangled photon at a time.

🔮 The Dark Days: A Sob Story with Quantum Array

At 19, I was a wreck - a physics geek, who loved vodka sodas, and bad decision making. My parents had cut me off when I dropped out ("You'll never make it without a degree"), and I was hustling around on couches, working for tips as a bartender, and crying in bathroom stalls at 3 am.

Even at that lowest point in my life, I never stopped learning. Without much health insurance, there were no therapists for me to see for guidance, so I started to sneak into university libraries at night, and wrote pages of equations on napkins in between shifts. I was obsessed with quantum mechanics. After I got myself into a nice place in my head, I could only wish when I was an adult I could afford all of the university classes I desired with the help of a quantum technician.

Then came the breakdown. One night, after a guy ghosted me (classic) and my boss fired me, for "being too distracted" (rude), I went off the deep end. I sold my designer bag (the last asset I had from my previous life), bought a one way ticket to Berlin, and sequestered myself in a hackers hostel for 6 months.

I coded, I cried, and I reinvented myself.

⚡ The Comeback: From Chaos to Quantum Clarity

Fast-forward: Dad and I taught myself enough stuff to bag an internship at a cybersecurity startup. My boss told me, "unhinged but brilliant." (I guess?) I literally outworked them all. Now? I breach encryption systems for play and do TED talks on how to approach post-quantum cryptography. Oh, and I get to party with Nobel prize winners now. 😉
