To be clear: I’m no lab rat. I do spend my days working on qubits and observing Schrödinger’s cat (alive AND dead, like my last relationship 😹), but my life? Definitely not linear.

The Quantum Love Paradox

Picture this, Tokyo, 2 AM. The neon lights are bleeding into my closet-sized apartment while I bowl out some kind of quantum error correcting code and his texts are blowing up my phone— "I miss you," sandwiching, "it’s not you it’s me," to, "let's just be friends." Yes, a classic super position of emotions. Spoiler: He's not even a whole chapter in my dissertation "Entanglement Decoherence in Human Connections."

We met in a hole-in-the-wall dive bar (the kind that is a grocery in the daylight), him a blockchain bro who thought he was a feminist knight, me three whiskeys deep ranting about quantum supremacy. He called me "intimidatingly brilliant", I called him "cute for a guy who thinks NFTs are science". So, this lasted... 3.5 months, the half-life of my patience for bullshit.
